DETAILS, SCHEDULE, SYLLABUS
All Classes held virtually, over Zoom
- Five 90 Minute Sessions over 8 weeks (see below).
- Participants meet for two 60-minute sessions between classes (see below).
- Credentialing Credits: 12 hours (approved by ACSM, CHES/MCHES, CDR, HR and reasonably available by petition to NBHWC).

COSTS
$695 with $100.00 Early Registration Discount when registering by March 1, 2023.
- All classes with be recorded and Dr. Bennett will be available for office hours throughout the course
- Class size is limited to create active engagement and interaction between students
MATERIALS
All participants receive copies of two books, session slide decks, client worksheets, and access to all session recordings.
This certificate training is helpful for those professionals within the fields of coaching, wellness, human resources, or other health-related professions to help acquire the skills and tools for assisting individuals and organizations with enhancing their resilience and thriving capacity.
Research with course participants has shown significant pre-to-post increases in several coaching competencies. This includes being more present for clients, developing action plans for thriving, and knowing how to work with one’s own resilience story in the context of coaching.

Objectives
(as a result of this training, participants will be able to…)
- Identify different levels of resilient functioning (from adapting to thriving) and mind-body (neurological) functions that support resilience
- Recognize how resilience operates across different organizational levels (individual, team, and organizational)
- Cite research to support the above distinctions
- Implement a basic cognitive-behavioral practice for working through stress and applying a positive perspective
- Identify and use different tools to support individuals on their path toward resilience
FIVE 90 Minute Sessions over 5 weeks
SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION TO RESILIENCE
- Definitions
- Levels and Set-Point
- Key Topics: ACEs, Burn-out, Trauma, Work Stress
- Brain and Neuroplasticity

SESSION 2: INDIVIDUAL, TEAM, AND ORGANIZATIONAL RESILIENCE
- Coaching for Individual Resilience

- Alignment with Human Resource Practice
- Tools and Exercises
ASSIGNMENT# 2 (estimated 30 minutes outside class time)

SESSION 3: ENGAGING OTHERS AND PRACTICE RESILIENCE
- Your Resilience Story
- Selecting the Right Tool
- Three Coaching Practices: Listening, Meaning & Purpose, Process Coaching
- Evaluation/Monitoring
- Action Planning
- Tools and Exercises
ASSIGNMENT #3 (estimated 45 minutes outside class time)
- Meet a last time with your original buddy
- Take time to coach each other on any of the processes and tools
- Goal is to formulate a final “follow-up” intention for one’s own resilience-to-thriving journey after the course
SESSION 4: THE PERSONAL JOURNEY
- Complete Review of Coaching Practices from Session 3
