Your employees, especially emerging adults, are your greatest asset.   When it comes to mental health, the restaurant industry is an underserved population. It is time for a change. 
We have trained many restaurant industry employees to build healthy coping, team resilience, and healthy management. We were so effective that the US Surgeon General recognized OWLS for its efforts.
Our Founder, Dr. Joel Bennett, has been featured in two groundbreaking article series in both Nation’s Restaurant News (May, 2018) and Restaurant Business (September, 2022).
Dr. Bennett has participated in restaurant industry working groups with the National Restaurant Association and the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health. Our “Team Resilience” program was developed in coordination with TGIF™ and CHART (Council of Hotel & Restaurant Trainers).

Results of a randomized clinical trial with TGI Fridays™ showed our work brought employees improved resilience, reduced stress and counterproductive behavior, caused reductions in problem drinking and job-related problems due to alcohol and drugs. Importantly, the design of the program included ambassador training which facilitated social dissemination of skills to employees who did not attend training (i.e., “a ripple effect”).
